Why We Chose Cement
Most jewellery is designed to remain unchanged.
We became interested in the opposite.
In materials that quietly record time.
Cement is one of them.
Unlike gemstones or polished metals, cement does not seek attention. Its beauty lies in subtle textures, tiny mineral patterns and microscopic air pockets—details that naturally emerge during the making process. No two surfaces are ever exactly the same.
To us, cement has never been an industrial material.
It resembles a weathered cliff, a dried riverbed, or a landscape slowly shaped by wind and rain. These quiet imperfections are not flaws to be removed, but traces of nature that deserve to remain.
We believe beauty does not always come from perfection.
Sometimes it is found in asymmetry, irregular textures, and the marks that only time can create. Rather than forcing every piece to look identical, we allow each material to express its own character.
Every Wavecement piece is handcrafted in Taiwan using cement, natural minerals and precious metals. Selected designs also feature a porous cement surface that can gently absorb perfume or essential oils, allowing fragrance to become part of the object and the memories it carries.
We are not simply creating jewellery.
We are creating objects that accompany time—pieces that quietly evolve with the people who wear them.
Because some beauty does not come from brilliance.
It comes from time.
